Hundreds joined us on Friday May 11 at the Gainesville Civic Center on Historic Green Street for an evening of hors d'ouevres, wine tasting, silent and live auctions, dancing and desserts. 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM - You may stroll through the main ballroom of the Civic Center, decorated in the colors of Tuscany, while sampling dishes from the area's finest dining establishments. Wines from the vineyards of North Georgia can be sampled, with each wine paired with the appropriate food. For those who wish, non-alcoholic beverages will be provided as well. During this time, guests may also bid on the many Silent Auction items donated by vendors throughout the area. Items include merchandise, gift certificates and services provided by doctors, hairdressers and many others. Volunteers will be available to answer any questions about the Silent Auction items or the bidding process. Take a look at our Silent Auction items. 9:00 PM - 9:45 PM - Don't miss the exciting Live Auction. You will have the opportunity to win several fine items, as two of our favorite local attorneys, Phillip and Lydia Sartain entertain everyone while serving as our auctioneers. Take a look at our Live Auction items. 9:45 PM - 12:00 AM - Enjoy desserts and coffee in the adjacent Chattahoochee Room or dance the night away as the band plays in the ballroom. Don't forget, you will need to check out in the Sidney Lanier Room, adjacent to the Ballroom. Cash, checks and MasterCard and Visa will be accepted for payment of Silent and Live Auction items. As a courtesy to all guests, this room will be devoted to the checkout and storage of Silent and Live Auction items. Guests may pay for their items at any time, and they will be held until departure. If you aren't ready to leave as you check out, that's fine, a volunteer will help you get your purchases to your car. Tickets are $75.00 per person, in advance. If tickets are still available, they will be $100.00 at the door. Each person will receive a commemorative wine glass and a variety of other goodies. |
