Gateway Domestic Violence Center's Community Outreach

The Gateway Domestic Violence Center Community Outreach and Education program offers special domestic-violence training to the courts, law enforcement, and social-service agencies. Training topics include

  • Dynamics of abuse
  • The needs of battered women and their children
  • Services available at Gateway House

In addition, our domestic-violence training for DFCS workers and schoolteachers covers how to recognize the warning signs that a child is in an abusive home, how to get help for abuse victims, and how children are affected by violence in the home.

Gateway Domestic Violence Center also provides a domestic-violence curriculum for use in schools from elementary through college level, focusing on the dynamics of abuse and the dangers of abusive relationships.

To arrange a presentation or training session, contact the Director of Community Outreach at 770-539-9080.
